rozi plain prizes

Rozi Plain's fifth studio album, Prize, casts a feeling of earthed beauty - one with all. Paved with small and intricate details, the world of Prize is one to step foot into; take a look around and soak up the beige-and-blue-hued emotion presented. It feels like an album centered on the acceptance of both the good and bad.

Prize makes use of a somber sound palette - everything feels subdued and of the same accord, in the same boat. The boat may be gradually filling with water, but the fact of the matter has been come to terms with - all will be alright. Cool as a light breeze, windswept, and resonating on an endlessly chill level, Prize is like a meandering ride through the valleys of pastel coloured clouds - iridescent showers and lukewarm spells are a common occurrence.

Calm, but not from not caring; it's more from caring too much, and being burnt - the only thing left to do is pull back and move on. Take your medicine where it's offered up. Life’s lessons pack a mighty blow; an even mightier one if you refuse to accept them humbly. Dont fight things, feel them. Get in and around them; listen to what they have to say.

Melancholy, but more on the side of feeling beige rather than blue - the sunny-side-up tint of the spectrum. Life can get heavy from time to time, but the knowing that the tide turns too gives off a resonant hum - a gentle reminder and reason to keep things moving. Stagnation slowly kills; it hurts far more than putting one foot in front of the other.

A world of sorrowful sunsets and serene sunrises, the soul-soothing balance between the ups and downs centers on a connection to life itself - mainlined in. Respite from the never-ending ride; the bittersweet trail. Pathed with roadblocks and rotten fruit, the road is a long one; though a beautiful one.

Hurt and comfort from the same source.
