South London six-piece, Tapir!, combine their first two EP's released in 2022 - Act 1(The Pilgrim) and Act 2(Their God) - and weave a third act on top to produce their debut album 'The Pilgrim, Their God and the King of My Decrepit Mountain'.

Split into three acts - The Pilgrim, Their God, and The King Of My Decrepit Mountain - each act is begun with narration; spoken word pieces which imbue a kindling fire kind of warmth. Feet up; eyes closed; ears open. Acoustic flurries of folk-y splendor adorn The Pilgrim; an ancient feel dashed with modern instrumentation - the past and the present joyously intertwine; the modern age and the middle age. A mystical quality emanates from the material. A dusty, withered soul gently unfolds; you can picture tired fingers tapping through an aging story book. Browned pages and tattered book-covers. 

The right amount of quirk occurs to keep things fresh. Electronic tinkering’s are sprinkled throughout - tss-tss high-hats add a motion to the swaying mix. A beautifully textured and nicely varied sound palette is put on show - minute details creep up and out of the cosy mix. 

The dry wit of Brian Eno comes through on 'The Nether(Face to Face)' - "It's cold, it's dark, throw your bones in the ancient water" sounds like it's the straight from the world of Here Come the Warm Jets.  

Ethan P. Flynn and Everything Everything on a folk trip. A gentle stroll through nature; a calm jaunt. Comforted by all that encompasses. Spring air fills the lungs; soft thoughts freely breeze through the psyche.
