Released on Archy's 19th birthday - Happy 29th birthday! - 6 Feet Beneath the Moon, King Krule's debut project, paints pictures of soothing pavements - concrete beds beckon from a distance. Still a teenager - a large majority of the material written under the 'Zoo Kid' moniker - Archy Marshall and co. proved a prodigious bunch. 10 years removed, King Krule's trajectory sees the name become one of the most respected and highly heralded among music groups; all earned; all deserved.

6FBTM sows the seeds of something special - the seeds being special in themselves. Rooted in what came before, but spun under a contemporary urban web, King Krule ties soul, funk, dub and hip-hop - among many other sights and sounds - together with a rugged ribbon. The murky city smog hovers within reach. Muddy and malaised. Succumbed to life’s aspirations, though still hopeful. There's fight left in the dog, but it can only take so much. Another disappointed soul - a soul that was built for more. Fit for purpose. Used and abused. Can't you see that these eyes are shut?

Wanting to be a part of something, while also wanting to be left alone. The tug and tide to the pull of life. The magnetic strip that keeps things in circulation. You pull away and irreversibly get closer to that which you pull away from. Endless cycles of misery and exultation. The highs, the lows, and not much in between. A contrast that cant be competed or bargained with - you're a part of it no matter how hard you try; the harder you try, the harder it becomes. Staying afloat by cruising under the radar. Feeling lost at home. Funny days bathed in gray. The landfill of urban decay. As it stands an empty vessel of a man.

King Krule's beginnings were of boyish type, but the underlying potential was fervent in every sense of the word.
