DJ Rozwell - What Happens After the Death Is Recorded
DJ Rozwell, member of KFC Murder Chicks and all-round mysterious personality, deals 2021 its fair dose of abnormal electronic recordings. Plunderphonics, Noise Rock and straight up instrumental hip-hop bleed together to curate a mash-up obscure in essence.
Grand in scale and sound, DJ Rozwell plans on reverberating your station wagon and walls with broken beats blown out beyond belief. Comical in nature and satirical to a degree this release doesn't seem to expect the listener to take a serious regard for it.
Track names like 'Cumming In Socks' hint at the possibility that DJ Rozwell may not care too much about the portrayal of self image, in the artistic sense at least. The artwork speaks for itself. Warped wizards and garden gnome's outside a gas station - ah yes this is the artwork I have been longing for! All this being said you'd expect a project of leftovers and generally derelict ideas. But this isn't the case. Some ideas are better than others, as is usually true, but overall the quality is of a high standard. Scatterbrained and sometimes not asked for, puerile in some cases, but up to par nonetheless. It can sound like mechanical animals colliding head on at times. Standing their ground and resorting in violence, in other words it can step into dubstep-like territory.
If you'e looking for a breathe of fresh air, you've found it. Not necessarily 'new' or groundbreaking but a welcome trip to the place where minds melt and bodies bend.
