Naked Flames - 247 365
No Agreements
Naked Flames' second album(?) - and second release in 2021, so far - conjures up feelings of exploratory exaltation. Ventures through kaleidoscopic soundscapes and boisterous backdrops leave the listener in a state of fervent vibrancy.
'247 365' follows one continuous groove - not too far from the 'Binc Rinse Repeat' EP earlier in the year. If anything, Binc Rinse Repeat was a warm up for this release - a taster of things to come, so to speak. '247 365' keeps up a high intensity throughout, with little to no room for breathers - moments to gather ones bearings - it can be quite an over-bearing experience. You either keep up, or you're left behind. Ever-changing tunes - 'Been and gone, we're moving on!' musical mindset. Incessant grooves lay the foundations for sweeps and swells of emotive atmosphere to engulf the listener in material that is nothing short of serene. Quite a lot of the listening experience sonically paints pictures of rainforests packed to the rafters with energetic wildlife taking part in festive activities - celebratory in spirit.
247 365 heads down a near-gabber direction with its restless need for motion. Keyed up with everywhere to go, 247 365 is sure to explore the limits - or lack thereof - of its own world in little to no time at all. Where the Naked Flames sonic sphere heads next will be nothing short of exceptional - as we have come to expect at this stage.
