Radiohead - The King of Limbs

Does it get much more underrated as The King of Limbs? Sitting in a weird space between In Rainbows, their industry shifting and shaping release, and A Moon Shaped Pool which offers a masterful performance on all fronts, The King of Limbs exists as a bit of an outlier in the bands discography. It may not pack the same punches as the Oxford crews seminal projects but thats not to say it lacks them either.

The King of Limbs is home to a different feel. A slow-burning essence which hesitantly comes undone with repeated ventures. Similar to an abused animal warming up to its new home/surroundings. A real warmth resonates from this collection of songs. A radial heat if you will.

Oozing with buttery basslines, dripping with atmosphere and topped off with signature Thom Yorke scriptures, The King of Limbs is a must for anyone with a liking for slight left turns. Not a full left turn, also known as Kid A, but a change in ethos without the full blown abandonment or alienation of previous efforts.

The King of Limbs is a must for fans of the band. The songs translate even better into the live setting and it makes you feel as if they were produced just for that reason. Superb stuff.
