The apocalyptic tones of Godspeed You! Black Emperor return for album number eight No Title As Of 13 February 2024 28,340 Dead. Speaking on the album title, which alludes to the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli airstrikes before February 13th in the ongoing Palestinian genocide, who knows what the number is now, GYBE had this to say: ''No Title' = what gestures make sense while tiny bodies fall? what context? what broken melody? and then a tally and a date to mark a point on the line, the negative process, the growing pile."

Spirits pillaged. A dry earth of scattered concrete. No colour; no nuance. Life in black-and-white. No room for manoeuvring. A box to do business in. A life trap. The fringes close in. Hogtied and left to die. Veins like blue ghosts behind grey, dust-flecked flesh. One too many bad days tips the scales in the favour of forever.
