Bloodslide - BLOODSLIDE EP

Featuring Mike Wallace of Women/Viet Cong/Preoccupations on drums, Protomartyr lead guitarist Greg Ahee on guitar and the daughter of Nancy Sinatra(?!?), AJ Lambert, on vocal and bass duties sets the project up for super group success. Full of depth - spacious and sprawling - and home to a powerful, crushing impact the debut project from BLOODSLIDE, teased over the months prior to release, guarantees to scratch that Protomartyr/Preoccupations post-punk itch.

AJ Lambert's vocal's provides a beautiful space between the instrumentation - regimented and thorough - and her soaring and somewhat motherly performance. A stunning dichotomy of brute and beaut(iful) is on show as Post-Punk royalty, Wallace and Ahee, set the soundscapes for Lambert to soar over. Quite mechanical at times, and fluent in flow at other times, the EP possesses a juxtaposed rigid/fluid structure. A lot of acts would pitfall at this juncture, but Bloodslide make the most of their intuition and use it in their favour.

Exuding the essence of DIY aesthetic BLOODSLIDE capture the magic of music. The excitement of the 'you never know where this'll go' mentality never fades in possibility. Collaboration and interweaving of band DNA always springs up interesting, necessary results, and this project is no different. Working with those outside your circle is sure to unlock sides of yourself that you weren't even aware of.

BLOODSLIDE prove to be a formidable team - bold, impenetrable and ultimately powerful. A full length project is more than welcome in my world.
